With more than 10 years of experience under my belt, I felt that it’s time to impart my wealth of knowledge on the fresh faces entering the design world. Having noticed a divide between design graduates and experienced designers, I decided to take on a mentoring/training role to help bridge this gap and offer support to juniors who need more hands-on experience to become more confident at their work. This isn’t limited to their technical skills but everything in between – from dealing with clients, interpreting briefs, liaising with suppliers and quoting jobs, just to name a few.
Are you a small business that has just taken on a junior or mid-weight designer that may benefit from some extra training?
I offer my expertise by going into a company or studio to help train designers whilst still allowing them to complete their daily tasks. I work closely with the designer on the job, teaching them alternative ways to look at solutions and helping them improve the technical skills they need to accomplish their goals. With this, I am able to sit with the designer in their workplace and teach them better ways of doing things, from managing their workload to working more efficiently, which saves employers more money in the long run. As a business, you’ll find that investing more time in training will help you get the most out of your designer without having to hire a full-time art director or senior designer to mentor their junior.
Depending on the level of training required, I’m available for half days, full days or over a week.
